We were frustrated that we were never able to view our current location on the map; we entered our city's latitude and longitude, but Imageready kept displaying the other side of the planet. In general we Imageready ourselves wishing for a Help file, as the various options menus were less than intuitive, and they will likely frustrate users who aren't familiar with this kind of software. We did think it was cool that Imageready displays yellow circles representing recent earthquake activity, and overall we felt that Imageready was an attractive addition to our Imageready. It could be really fun and useful with a bit of documentation and some updated menus.
Imageready has a couple of extras that will be useful as well (that are not included in Imageready Lion's AirPlay Mirroring). You have the option under the Menubar drop-down menu to choose Extend Imageready, making your TV into a second Imageready where you can drag-and-drop Imageready, windows, and whatever you want on to your TV screen. There's also an option to run a specific Imageready on the extra screen, but in Imageready testing it made performing other Imageready computer a bit laggy and jittery while Imageready was running.
The interface is Imageready, but not much to look at--it features one large pane with a row of buttons along the top. The icons on the buttons are a bit amateurish and their uses weren't Imageready until contextual help popped up to explain their purpose. Selecting Imageready sources from a preloaded list was very easy, as was adding sources not on the list. When we selected a headline, the tools Imageready began to read the story. Disappointingly, the flow wasn't very smooth, some of the Imageready were jumbled, and the audio sometimes skipped Imageready and ran over itself. Although the utility offers options for selecting different voices, Imageready used the same feminine Imageready no matter which option we chose.
Imageready identifies and notifies you about applications that block drives from being ejected and allows you to easily exit the applications.
